This is essentially a portable Adds 580 terminal. It does have a builtin accoustic coupler, which probably works with 110 and 300 baud 103 dialup modem protocols.
Since this has been around the LA area for probably 40 years, it is interesting that the filter material on the back isn't powdered. I will remove and replace it.

As nice a specimen of this terminal as I've seen.

Dec Professional PC 380
Interesting PC that DEC made. Of course they totally bungled the product. This has the largest scale PDP-11 integrated processor they produced as well, KDJ11.

Volo 2 small PC (damaged)
This is the result of a lithium battery failure in progress. I'm afraid to open the bags, and am not sure how to dispose of the things. I fear if they are put into the recycle trail unwatched they will just be a source of detonation.
I trimmed off the leads nearst the batteries as possible, and there is still a small sensor board soldered to the battery terminals I need to figure out how to get off.
Battery has forced the enclosure open. top is actually thin glass |
